Dust in the wind...

I have successfully moved back to Logan and am now beginning my second winter semester home. I am not that excited about this, I was hoping to stay in Rexburg with my friends and work. But things always change and it was time for me to come home again. It's interesting to be able to look back at my first year and now second year at BYU-Idaho, and compare the differences. It is good being home though, I get to sleep in my queen sized bed, my mommy makes dinner! and I can sleep in as much as I want. So now it's time to find a job and get to work. I plan on doing some adventuring this semester and hope that I can make some lasting friends. Oh on another note I'm fairly sure I won't be living at Centennial again, so I am going to nomad around for a while until I find another home.

Glee...

I have always been a big fan of Glee, I have watched it since it started and have really enjoyed the program. all the idiosyncrasies, of the different characters and the absurdness of the episodes. not to mention the first seasons songs were really good. I wasn't tricked at all to think that they were actually singing those songs live, but I overall enjoyed it. some of their best episodes in my opinion were hairography and the Madonna episode.
This latest season though has been a real disappointment, they keep playing on the same two gags, and will wait two weeks for a new episode that is lackluster. I feel that they are getting more inappropriate for no real reason, before they had risque episodes but for a reason, Madonna is a controversial person so that episode had to ruffle some feathers, yet now they just do stupid stuff, and I find myself not laughing.... you are breaking my heart Glee. I don't know if I can continue watching you.

This one's for you Jason,

So today was a pretty standard day, I went and had my archery class, and my family foundations. We were shooting balloons about the size of a tennis ball at 25 and 30 yards. it was a lot of fun, I hit about 6 balloons myself. In family foundations we talked about the roles of parents in the family and how it is ideal for the mother to stay home and care and nurture the children while the father provides for the family. I am really grateful that even though my mother worked for a living she was able to be there when we were home, I don't remember that many times of being home without my mom around. I went to the student health center again. I was trying to get my medications changed. I take 4 different meds. A,B,C,D. I take A, B and C every day, and D only when I need it. now I need either A or B increased, problem is meds A, B, D affect med C. so if I raise those it will raise the amount of C in my blood. so we did some blood work and an EKG today and everything turned out good so the nurse gave me a new combo to try. we will see how this plays out in the next few weeks. after the doctor appointment I decided to go have my oil changed in the exploder, and get the tires changed and everything. As I walked in the little room they have next to the shop, I was instantly asked what my name was by this fellow sitting near the door, he looked no older then 19 and he was sitting with either a friend or brother. now being the nice guy that I am and not sensing any foul play I answered, turns out his name is Jason and he was such a nice guy. I was sure after our conversation started that he either had a form of autisim or was mentally handicapped. he started asking me questions seemingly at random and off topic. "do you like sports?" "do you have a girlfriend?" "Have you seen funny home videos when the guy walks out then falls over laughing?" that third one being my favorite, he told me how bowling was his favorite sport and that the other day he bowled an 106, 138, and a 88. I told him that I am lucky if I break 100! lol. When they were getting ready to leave he told me that I was his new friend and that his birthday is on April 5th and I am invited, he gave me two hugs before he would follow his friend/brother out to their car. It warmed my heart so much to meet and speak with him. I remembered why I love mentally handicapped people so much! they are truly sweet spirits, so honest, bold and wonderful. not to mention a ton of fun! they really are here to teach us how we should treat each other, you will never find guile or hurtful purposes in their actions. anyway I just wanted to share my fun story with you, have a great day!

Rock music saved my life.....

I have been listening to rock music a lot the past couple of day, back in high school when I got off my kick of rap music I found ACDC's back in black cd, that was the beginning of a wonderful journey through rock music. My dad would always laugh and shake his head when he would hear me listening to the music that came out when he was in high school. since being back from my mission I trended to listen to some rock less and stick more towards country music. A year ago while living with my roommate Jason Cutler, I was reintroduced to the Hip Hop music I loved, since then I have primarily listened to hip hop music and just dabbled back into the rock. anyway I have listened to some classic songs and love what I've been hearing. I just wanted to share that with you guys, hope all is going well, only two more weeks till thanksgiving break!

Caramel apple goodness

For Fhe we made our own caramel apples! it was really funny because instead of buying already made stuff we bought the caramel candies then unwrapped them and melted the candy down. the best part was watching Tanya and Alyssa unwrap the candy, after like 10 minutes they had like 20 of them unwrapped so the rest of us jumped in and helped.

Alyssa

Kellie loves caramel apples!

I have a way fun FHE family, the girls are way cool and we have a fun time together.

Thank you for curing me of my ridiculous obsession with love.

I have been thinking a lot lately and have been pondering my place in this wide world of ours, I think I am learning some new things about myself, and it's an interesting thing. I don't know what to do anymore, I am still luckless with dating, doing poor in school, am not making much money, and I can't keep in contact with old friends even though I want too. I have been wanting a relationship or someone to share with for the longest time, and after a year of dating and taking girls out I feel much like christian in Moulin Rouge. like I have finally broken my obsession with love. I don't know where this will lead me, I doubt I can give up dating but I feel like I've lost some of my nerve as of late. before to long the semester will end and all memories of me will fade, and I will be able to start anew. besides that work is going well, I hate it, but it pays the bills. until next time take care,

Kanye's workout plan/ story writing...

So this last week I decided that I weigh to much and it is high time I started to loose weight, especially with my heart problems, so I started to stop eating and started exercising a little. to put it in perspective I lost 8 pounds from September 21st-26th. which isn't healthy, needless to say I got sick on monday and am now easing back into dieting, I stopped exercising but hope to start that again soon. the nice thing is everyone has been real supportive and have been wishing me luck and complimenting me which has been really nice. I need help with this and so far I am getting a lot and I thank everyone, so I have started Kanye's get right for the summer work out tape, holla!

Now on to more exciting things!
I have a really good friend name Amanda Van Leuwan who lives in C1, she has this great picture of her family when they went to Nauvoo and participated in the nauvoo pageant. She was 15 at the time, and the picture looks like her family is amish or from pioneer times. So as I usually do I started making fun of the picture and started off on a story of how she was from a poor sharecroppers family, but later that night and the next day, I felt inspired to write down the story and share it with Amanda and her roommates. So I started yesterday and am now on the third page, I have character descriptions and new names for her family members, and there is a love interest in the story! I have kept everything as period appropriate that I can. Her roommates really appear to enjoy it and I hope Amanda does to. I will most likely be blogging it along with the picture when it is completed, as of right now it is still in the early forms of the prose.

Her family looks something like this, just not as scary....

until then I hope you all enjoy the new semester!

An enemy of the Republic!

I am so frustrated with the financial aid office right now, all my paperwork is in and we are starting the second week of school and I have no money, to pay rent or to pay tuition. So I decided that everyone in the Financial Aid office and in that building are now an enemy of the Republic!

Gaga about Gaga

This whole post is dedicated to my latest obsession, yes I am obsessed with Lady Gaga... judge me if you want but I won't take it back! lol So I have been listening to her a ton lately, and I am going to list off my favorite songs,
1. Paparazzi
2. Telephone
3. Bad Romance
4. Poker Face
5. Starstruck
6. Love game
7. Just Dance

So at the end of everyday I will have at least listened to those songs once, but most likely 3 or 4 times... but I will not apologize for that.

School started again this last week and it has been fun, I am making new friends and meeting new people which is really nice, this has been a new experience for me moving into a new ward in an area I have never lived in before but I am learning and feeling better about being here. My roommates are awesome! they are as follows Ben from South Dakota, he is my room roommate, David from Seattle/Chicago, we were mission companions so its fun being roommates, Pierre my black roommate from Boston, he is crazy and is always keepin it real, Seth from Utah, he is fun and has a girlfriend she is really pretty, don't tell him I said that! lol, and last but not least is Louis from Tanzania, he is my other black roommate, he is a crazy kid. All my roommates are nice and we get along really well. I will post pictures of the apartment and roommates when I get the opportunity to take them, Rexburg has been a playa hater and is showing us some bad weather, anyway I leave you with this photo to cement in your minds my true love right now...

It's been a while...

I was listening to one of my favorite songs today, if you can't guess it is "it's been a while" by Staind. I'm starting to think a lot about the coming semester, all the different classes, my new apartment and new roommates I will have. You see at the end of last semester I felt it was time to move on and meet new people, so I migrated away from The Pines and the 14th ward. It's funny to think the first time I was there it was 2005, and now it's 2010... time is flying by. I am excited for the new experiences I will have, hopefully I will be able to get a job to!
well there have been some changes in the Rood Household since the last time I wrote, My brother Cody went on his mission to the Canada Toronto East mission spanish speaking, he leaves the MTC on the 20th of this month

Cody and I before he went to the MTC

Also we got a dog! her name is Stella and she is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, she is a lot of fun. She always seems to be watching and learning.

Stella asleep in the tub hanging out of her bed! lol

I threw Stella into the snow!

Also my cousin Chris and his wife Robin had their baby! His name is Tyson and he is so cute, usually I'm not that big a fan of babies, until they reach about 3 months and get out of the "Blob" stage I'm just like "It's a baby..." we went down this last saturday and I got to hold him, he is so precious! there is something so special about babies, they are a definate miracle.

With school starting I will do a better job of keeping my blog up, since stuff will actually be happening in my life now! lol.

Till then you stay classy San Diego,

How low can you go? I can make your Bedrock,

So this last week I was doing some snooping online and found a couple of new songs that totally rock my socks! and I want to share them with you, the first is How Low by Ludacris, it is so good, it has a chorus with the chipmunk sounding voice so at first you are like, hmmmm this doesn't seem to be that great of a song, but on closer inspection it is amazing!
the second song is by Young Money, it is called Bedrock, the song is alright, they have like 8 different rappers sing the song, so it is a little hard to keep track of everyone but the chorus is the best! here's how it goes
Ooh Baby,
I Be Stuck To You,
Like Glue Baby,
Wanna Spend It All On You,
Baby,
My Room Is The G Spot,
Call Me Mr. Flintstone,
I Can Make Your Bed Rock
I-I-I I Can Make Your Bed Rock
I-I-I I Can Make Your Bed Rock Girl
I-I-I I Can Make Your Bed Rock
I-I-I I Can Make Your Bed Rock

See? I told you, you would like it! so that is my short post this morning, later tonight I will get on and let you know how my first day at work went! wish me luck
